Park City, Utah is well known for it’s outdoor activities and was actually voted the number one place to live for recreation by Outdoor Magazine in the year of 2013. In fact, Park City itself was home of the 2002 Winter Olympics.
The beautiful landscape, diverse trails and powdery snow provide the perfect atmosphere to learn, excel and challenge oneself in the areas of winter sports. From bobsledding, to snowboarding to skiing, there is a challenge around every corner.
It comes as no surprise that the city is the origin of many athletes that have aspired and been successful in participating in the winter Olympics throughout history. From Dusty Dvorak’s gold medal in 1984 to Bryon Wilson’s bronze medal in 2010, Park City has done its fair share of contribution to the United States’ Olympic team.
This year proved to be one for the books for Park City. Two natives of the city not only represented the United States, but also their hometown by becoming the first ever gold medalists in each of their competitions; Sage Kotsenburgin snowboard slope style and Joss Christensen in Ski slope style.
Park City is truly impressive in so many ways and perhaps one of the most remarkable things about it, is that the 2002 Winter Olympic trails are open to the public, so anyone can have a chance to feel like a champion.
